At PJ Margo, safety is a shared responsibility and a core value across all levels of the organization. Key principles include:
- Aims to remove or reduce/remove the risks to the health, safety and welfare of all workers, contractors, visitors, and anyone else who may be affected by our business operations
- Aims to ensure all work activities are done safely.
- All employees, regardless of role must actively commit to preventing accidents.
- No task is so urgent that it cannot be performed safely.
- Employees are periodically updated on plant operations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and any process changes.
- As part of our ongoing safety initiative, annual training is conducted for all on-site employees in firefighting and first aid.
Management’s Responsibilities:
PJ Margo Management is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees by:
- A safe working environment by adopting safe work practice
- Safe system of work (Plant and Substances in safe condition)
- Facilities for the welfare of all workers by providing on-the-job training and familiarizing employees with new techniques.
- Any information, instruction, training and supervision needed to make sure that all workers are safe from injury and risks to their health.
- Equipping employees with safe plant operations, proper machinery handling, and maintaining a congenial working environment.
- Supplying updated and well-maintained tools and instruments to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Designing well-planned and safe plant infrastructure.
- Investigating all types of accidents and developing preventive safety measures accordingly.
Employee Responsibilities:
- Support management by suggesting and helping develop new safe work practices and systems.
- Stay updated and adopt to new systems and technologies using their skills and knowledge
- Ensure the safe use of equipment and machinery, and immediately report any observed defects.
- Learn the correct usage of any new equipment issued or installed.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their work area.
- Report all incidents and contribute t identifying preventive measures to reduce or avoid accidents.
- Ensuring their personal health and safety, and that of others in the workplace.
- Complying with any reasonable direction (Such as safe work procedures, wearing personal protective equipment) gives by the management for Health and Safety.
- Taking responsibility and directing the contract employee / visitors for their health and safety measures.
